- Clydesdale. That pretty much sums up my triathlon. Not afraid of the training, definitely not afraid of the BUFFET! I was winning the battle with weight and was well on my way to being in great shape for Ironman Canada 07. Thanks to various training camps with Cal Zaryski and Chuckie V. With about 3000km on the bike since January I was losing weight and gaining wattage. June 2nd (I Think) I showed up in Pigeon Lake for a 58km road race. 2 hours later I was on a backboard and crammed in an ambulance with 3 other of a 15 man pile up 1500 metres from the finish. Apparently, the back of my head hit the pavement at about 55kmh and then I was run over shortly after by the front of the peleton. Waking up sometime later with a broken collarbone, heaps of road rash/burn, tire marks, an injured pelvis and a splitting headache. Here I am still suffering post concussion symptoms and at a loss. Not knowing when I'll be ready to "train" again. These are my musings.
